Shane Yellowbird Big Winner at Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards

Country star Shane Yellowbird was the top winner at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards on Friday night in Toronto, picking up trophies for best male artist, best country album and best album of the year for "Life Is Calling My Name."

The ninth edition of the event was a star-studded gala with Canada's Native celebrities and performances by top Aboriginal artists, including Yellowbird who performed to a very enthusiastic crowd of fans at Rogers Skydome in Toronto.

Earlier this month, the Alberta-born Yellowbird picked up three prizes at the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in Winnipeg. In September, he took home the rising star award at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

The Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards (CAMAs) are part of the Canadian Aboriginal Festival & Pow Wow which took place at Rogers Centre in Toronto November 30 - December 2, 2007. Info is online at www.canab.com.
