Shane Yellowbird's "Pickup Truck" Debuts at #27

Shane Yellowbird

Shane Yellowbird's recent single release, "Pickup Truck”, is showing signs of being another smash hit for the new artist. The single debuted this week on Canada's R&R/Mediabase chart at #27, and was Canada's most added and most increased spins of any new single, Canadian or American.

"To debut at #27 is a fantastic accomplishment for a new artist” commented Paul Kennedy of Kennedy Artist Promotions. "Indeed very few new Canadian artists have such instant chart success as Shane.”

Phil Kallsen, Director of Country Programming for Corus Radio commented, "Shane Yellowbird is definitely and artist to watch! His new single 'Pick Up Truck' is not only taking the Canadian charts by storm, but it is a truly clever song that Shane delivers expertly. This is a hit song delivered by one of country music's hottest rising stars."

The song created a buzz when Yellowbird performed it on his recent 21-stop tour across Canada with Emerson Drive.

"Pickup Truck was the most requested and talked about song when audiences gathered at the merchandise tables after the show," commented Yellowbird.

Pickup Truck is a fun country song that allows Shane's sense of humour to shine through the lyrics that take a playful stab at cheesy and unsuccessful pick up lines. It is also a follow-up to his top 10 single "They're All About You.”

"It's been a great run for Shane so far,” commented 306 Records President Louis O'Reilly. "The public has responded phenomenally to his music and he has shown strong sales in all markets.”

For Shane, the rapid rise to success is a bit surreal. "I'm starting to get recognized on the street now and spending a lot more time on the road. It's been a lot of fun.”
